It's certainly possible.

But then, you could theoretically freeze your age at 45 for a good number of years, if you're frightened of dying.

No, don't freeze yourself. You'll lock your arms in place and contract Rictus Immobulus and when they unfreeze you, all your bones will have disintegrated.
