I don't think I understand this.
[ Samir is a little farther from the podium on the platform than one would generally place themselves, but presumably, he isn't expressing an opinion on public structures. All the public structures that comprise this place, maybe. ]
Is this normal?
[ He gives the nearest masked figure a quick slantwise look. It seems like it's a kind of look he's had a lot of practice giving. ]
Acceptably abnormal?
... Perhaps I should go out more?
[ People all seem okay with this! He has to check, but is already semi-resigned to the possibility he's un-hip and has failed once more to grasp the zeitgeist. Of whatever. Of whatever zeitgeist is. ]

I can see how it might be interesting.
[ In those guarded words, one can see his future: an old man yelling at people to get off his lawn. ]

You'd you've eaten it? For how long?
[ Such reactions are a hazard of his profession. ]

I'm guessing you're opposed to the idea.

[ At least he is aware his reaction isn't wholly appropriate. ]
This place, how people seem to accept it, and the food is free, it's ... like a fairy tale trap.

You don't recommend that I go out more.
[ What kind of recommendation is that. Sure, it's what he's naturally inclined toward, but who the heck are you, buddy. ]

Uh, if it's here? Hell no. Just seems weird, you know?
[he says, casually, as if he's not just standing there ignoring all those masked beings.]

[ He stares to the side again, unable to ignore the masks. They're status symbols back home, though of course they don't look anything like these. ]
I'm told I should but this is what happens.
[ So old. So fussy. ]

Really though, I reckon you just need to find someone who weird shit doesn't happen to and go out with them.

[ Because he took that first part as sarcasm and is displeased by it, even if he doesn't look back at Harvestman. ]
Yes, fine, I'll start screening applicants as soon as I get back.

I don't think it's what I need, but should that change, I'll remember your advice.
[ The word "advice" comes delicately bracketed by quotation marks. ]

[he was no help to anyone and nothing was accomplished, hurrah!]
