I don't think I understand this.

[ Samir is a little farther from the podium on the platform than one would generally place themselves, but presumably, he isn't expressing an opinion on public structures. All the public structures that comprise this place, maybe. ]

Is this normal?

If the primary quality I'm looking for is "weird shit doesn't happen to you" and not "I enjoy your company and want to spend time with you," I don't know that I would call that a solid basis for friendship.
